Living between art and multiple sclerosis
A new perspective on Self-Acceptance
For many years, I believed I had to change in order to belong. I thought I needed to shrink parts of myself, my body, my voice, even my dreams to fit into expectations I didn’t choose.
However, something shifted when I created I Am Enough. Through this artwork, I began to see myself with different eyes.
Showing a Real Body Without Fear
This painting is not just about form; it’s about freedom.
I chose to depict a plus-size woman in a crop top, her belly and hips visible. Not to shock or make a statement, but to simply be. To exist without apology. After all, real bodies deserve to be seen, not hidden.
The Symbolism of the Flowers
Surrounding her are orange-toned flowers: symbols of resilience, energy, and growth. Rather than representing a final transformation, they speak of ongoing blooming.
Because becoming who we are is a journey, not a destination.
The Creative Process and What It Meant to Me
Layer by layer, the painting came to life: paper, gesso, acrylic ink. Each one added not only texture but meaning. Moreover, each mark became a metaphor for my own evolution.
Instead of painting what I thought others wanted to see, I painted what I needed to feel. As a result, this piece became a turning point in my journey toward self-acceptance.
A Message for You: You Are Enough
If you ever doubt your worth, I invite you to pause. Remember: You are enough exactly as you are.
Not when you lose weight. Not when you fix what the world told you was broken. But now. Choosing to show up, just as you are, is an act of radical self-love. While it may not be easy, it is powerful.
Thank You for Being Here
Thank you for walking alongside me. I hope I Am Enough offers you a mirror; a reminder that you are not alone, and you never were. May it inspire you to show up without fear, and to bloom on your own terms.
