The origin of Serenity in Blush
Serenity in Blush was born from the need to find calm and strength. 🌸 Each layer of collage, gesso, acrylic, and oil reflects moments of vulnerability, introspection, and self-acceptance. Moreover, the textures invite the viewer to engage not only visually but emotionally.
Living with multiple sclerosis has taught me to value what I can create today without expecting perfection. In fact, each limitation became an opportunity to explore details more deeply. For example, I paid special attention to the flow of acrylic inks and the subtle layering of collage pieces, letting the materials guide the process organically. As a result, the painting carries a sense of movement and life that mirrors personal resilience.
Symbolism in every stroke
The bride, dressed in a blush gown, holding red roses, and surrounded by flamboyant flowers, symbolizes resilience and authentic beauty. Her closed eyes invite viewers to feel the moment rather than just see it. Each brushstroke and color choice became a conscious reminder: true strength lies in accepting who we are and blooming from there.
Furthermore, the combination of warm blush tones with vibrant reds creates a delicate balance between vulnerability and empowerment. The Flamboyán branches in the background extend the narrative, suggesting growth, renewal, and the courage to thrive despite obstacles.
Art as emotional release
Even on challenging days, creating this piece allowed me to express emotions that words cannot capture. The process of layering, blending, and refining each detail became a form of meditation. Additionally, working with mixed media gave me freedom to experiment, embrace imperfections, and celebrate small victories.
