Living between art and multiple sclerosis
The Inspiration Behind the Piece
Every woman has a story that shapes her strength. Whispers of Light was inspired by moments of reflection, when life’s challenges, including my journey with multiple sclerosis, revealed the quiet resilience within. Moreover, I wanted to capture that gentle yet powerful energy in a portrait that feels both intimate and universal.
The dark curls, wine-colored lips, and serene expression of the woman reflect confidence that comes from self-acceptance. Additionally, the white daisies symbolize renewal, while the two hummingbirds represent small joys that uplift us during difficult times.
The Creative Process
Creating this piece was a journey in itself. I started with collage, leaving fragments visible to give texture and depth. Then I applied inks to add movement and energy. Acrylics helped form the figure, while oil paint brought warmth and life to her skin.
Each layer represents an emotional step in my own healing process. Some layers are subtle, others bold, just as resilience in life appears in different ways. Layering became a metaphor: growth is built over time, with patience and care.
The Message of the Artwork
Whispers of Light encourages women to embrace their beauty and strength, even when they feel fragile. It reminds us that vulnerability is not weakness; it is the space where courage and authenticity meet.
Through this work, I hope viewers feel empowered to accept themselves fully, honoring their stories, their scars, and their victories. Every detail, from the delicate flowers to the hummingbirds’ wings, conveys that light is present, even in the quietest moments.
