Living between art and multiple sclerosis
Some artworks don’t need loud colors or drama to move us. Radiant Layers speaks through calm confidence. It invites you to witness beauty in truth—in presence, not perfection.
With a plus-size female figure at its center and soft, flowing colors, this painting honors what it means to truly take up space without apology.
A body that doesn’t ask to be seen, it simply is
The woman in this canvas stands tall in a cropped turquoise top. Her belly and hips are exposed, not to provoke, but to affirm. She is not trying to conform. She is simply present.
There’s a quiet power in her stance. It reflects the courage of showing up as you are, especially in a world that often expects us to hide.
Her calm presence reminds us: you don’t need to change to be worthy.
Orange flowers that guide the eye and soul
Three orange flowers bloom along her left side. Each one glows with a different tone, evoking stages of healing and emotion.
They frame her figure gently, creating movement and balance.
More than decoration, these flowers represent inner growth. They reflect the soft parts of us that continue to bloom, even when we’ve been through storms.
A layered process with emotional depth
Radiant Layers began with textured paper, gesso, and stenciled shapes. Then, water-activated pigment powders added softness. Later, I layered acrylic inks to blend warmth and contrast.
Some of those first layers remain visible. That’s intentional.
Like in life, each experience we go through leaves something behind. Even when we evolve, parts of our past remain present, shaping us.
This process mirrors how we grow: with complexity, beauty, and openness.
Why bring this piece into your home?
This painting is perfect for body-positive spaces. But it’s also ideal for quiet corners where we sit, reflect, and feel.
It offers more than visual interest, it brings emotional presence.

Whether you’re embracing your body, healing past wounds, or simply surrounding yourself with truth, Radiant Layers might be the reminder you didn’t know you needed.
If it speaks to you, maybe it’s because you’re ready to show your layers too.
