Living between art and multiple sclerosis
There are moments in life that push us—gently or forcefully—to redefine who we are. Sometimes it happens after an illness, other times through grief or simply the urge to stop living under someone else’s expectations. For me, painting became the space where I could finally breathe freely. It became a refuge and a mirror. A space where I stopped shrinking and started taking up space. Unfiltered. Unapologetic. Unframed.
Painting as a Way of Rebuilding
After facing major shifts in my body and health, I realized that many of the beliefs I had clung to no longer served me. I had to let go of how I was “supposed” to look, behave, or feel. From that place of deep reckoning, Unframed Essence was born. I painted her not in sorrow, but with the power of someone who has decided to stop fitting in. Each layer and stroke carries the voice of a woman choosing to exist on her own terms.
This piece is about reclaiming space—not just physically, but emotionally and spiritually. It’s about standing tall in a world that often tells us to shrink.
A Reminder for the Soul
This artwork doesn’t ask for approval—it asks for connection. It’s a visual affirmation that your essence, just as it is, is enough. More than enough. It honors the quiet beauty that resists conformity. The kind of beauty that grows from the inside out, even when no one is watching. It’s not about being perfect—it’s about being real.
Are You in That Moment Too?
Maybe you’re also letting go of the need to be “just right.” Maybe you’re learning to look at yourself with compassion and pride. If you are, this painting was made with you in mind. Let it live with you as a symbol of how far you’ve come—and how powerful it is to finally say: “I won’t frame myself anymore.”
This piece is for you if you’re ready to say: ‘I won’t frame myself anymore.’
