Living between art and multiple sclerosis
More Than Just a Color
They say pink is delicate, yet it holds immense strength.
In In Shades of Pink, each tone represents a different emotion: tenderness, hope, confidence, and reconciliation. While painting this piece, I realized pink can heal even when words fall short.
Living with multiple sclerosis taught me that strength doesn’t always look strong. Sometimes it appears soft, tired, or silent. As the brush moved across the canvas, I understood that power also lies in surrendering for a moment before moving forward. Every subtle stroke reminded me of resilience, and every shade of pink whispered courage.
Art as a Safe Haven
When my body began to change, art became my refuge. Painting in pink tones helped me reconnect with my femininity without fear.
Each layer symbolizes a step toward acceptance, a way to tell myself: “I am still here.”
Moreover, pink allowed me to express emotions I could not explain. Within its shades, I found calm, and in its light, I discovered that vulnerability is not weakness. In fact, showing it can be beautiful. I realized that creating this artwork was also a gentle act of self-care, a daily ritual that soothed both mind and body.
Rebirth Through Soft Tones
This artwork celebrates rebirth after the storm. It does not hide scars but honors them.
In Shades of Pink invites us to see ourselves with compassion, recognizing that softness can also be strength.
Painting it reminded me that even gray days can be touched by hope. Through art, I learned that flourishing does not mean returning to the same self but embracing the new version that emerges after change. Each layer, color, and texture tells a story of resilience, healing, and personal growth.
