There’s a quiet power in the way she looks toward the horizon as if searching for something beyond what eyes can see. Golden Gaze captures that moment of stillness and hope, where light meets longing and transformation begins.
Created in oil and mixed media on canvas, this portrait celebrates renewal and resilience. I began the piece with collage and gesso, allowing a few fragments to remain visible to preserve its story and texture. Then, I worked with powdered pigments activated by water to add depth and movement. Acrylics helped define the forms, while oil paint brought softness and warmth to her skin and the surrounding sunflowers.

Her green eyes are filled with quiet determination, reflecting the inner strength that often grows from life’s most challenging seasons. The surrounding sunflowers, painted in multiple shades of yellow, represent optimism, healing, and light after darkness. Through every layer, I wanted to express that moment when we choose to face the future with courage instead of fear.
Painting with multiple sclerosis has taught me that art can hold both struggle and beauty at once. Each brushstroke in Golden Gaze became a reminder that healing is not about returning to who we were, but about blooming again in a new way.
This piece belongs to my Golden Blooms collection, which celebrates women who find grace in growth and strength in vulnerability. It’s a tribute to the golden light within us… the part that never fades, even when life feels uncertain.
Display Golden Gaze in a space that welcomes reflection and warmth. Let her steady gaze remind you to trust your own unfolding, to bloom again with resilience, and to always look toward your next horizon.
